Description

137×32 Modwood Marina is Modwood’s most heavy-duty composite decking board, purpose-built for commercial projects and environmentally sensitive locations where performance can’t be compromised. Thicker and stronger than the standard 137×23 board, Marina spans up to 600mm joist centres and is specially formulated to resist the full force of salt air, moisture, UV and heavy foot traffic.

Key Features of Modwood Marina Decking

  • Spans up to 600mm joist centres, reducing the number of joists required
  • R11 anti-slip rating to AS 4586:2013, ideal for wet and waterfront areas
  • Superior moisture resistance and salt air protection โ€” contains no harmful chemicals
  • Global GreenTagโ„ข certified and made from recycled Australian materials
  • Australian-made using locally sourced waste materials
  • Suited to boardwalks, pontoons, jetties & bridges

Why choose Modwood Marina?
Where the standard Modwood board suits most residential and light commercial builds, Marina is engineered for projects that need to go the distance. Its composite construction is without any of the chemical treatments associated with traditional timber – which makes it particularly well-suited to ecologically sensitive areas like waterways and coastal reserves. The wider joist span also means less substructure, which simplifies installation and reduces overall project costs.

As a part of the Marina ModWood decking range – these boards are not fully capped and may weather over time due to the wood content inside the boards. This means that similarly to timber decking, the boards could grey over a long time span (many years). For a fully capped composite board that won’t fade – choose the Xtreme Guard Modwood Decking.

FAQs

What is Modwood Marina designed for?
Marina is Modwood's heaviest-duty composite board, engineered for marinas, boardwalks, jetties, outdoor furniture and commercial decking areas with high foot traffic or elevated load requirements.

How does it differ from the 137ร—23mm Flame Sheild or Xtreme Guard boards?
The Marina board is thicker at 32mm, which gives it significantly greater strength and the ability to span wider joist centres (up to 600mm) compared to 450mm for the 23mm boards. It's better suited to higher concentrated loads.

What's the slip resistance rating?
R11 to AS 4586:2013, making it suitable for wet and high-traffic commercial surfaces.

Is it suitable for use near saltwater?
Yes. The Marina board is highly resistant to salt air and harsh coastal conditions, and contains no chemicals that could leach into ecologically sensitive environments like waterways and marine areas.

What joist spacing can these boards withstand?
The Marina range can be installed to joists with up to 600mm spacing between centres. For commercial applications with higher concentrated loads, point load calculations are recommended โ€” contact Modwood directly for deflection calculations specific to your project.

What length does the Marina Modwood range come in?
Marina is supplied in 4.2m lengths.

What fixing options are available?
Modwood Marina is approved for top-fixing with Modwood coloured head screws.
