Originating from Far North Queensland and up through South East Asia, Merbau is a rich and highly durable hardwood widely renowned for its coarse but even texture. Finger Jointed Merbau is manufactured from select-grade timber for a superior finish.
Pre-primed External is a pine timber that has been treated with chemical solution containing two components; fungicide and insecticide. Preservatives are forced deeply into the timber, treating the pine to give long term resistance to decay, insects and other wood destroying organisms. This effective and lasting protection of pine enables it to be used in many applications outliving untreated and naturally durable timbers in exposed conditions.

Use treated timber fence post caps on top of a 90 x 90mm fence post to dress it up. Made out of plantation grown Radiata Pine that has been H3 treated (suitable for above ground use).
How should you finish it? A water based primer/undercoat is not a necessity (although it wouldn’t hurt), but at least 2 coats of the final colour is a must. Leaving it unfinished, oiling it or using a clear lacquer is not recommended.

On the bottom there is a 45mm deep x 7mm diameter hole, to suit the IF034X Double Ended Screw, for easy fixing to posts.
